Pros
Job security! Always get your 40 and often have opportunity for OT. Quick raises. I began five years ago at a wage of 9.50/hr, and within 4 years, topped out at 14.00/hr. The following year, the company ran a cost of living survey, and raised me to 15.50/hr. Always opportunity to crosstrain or switch to another department for a change of scenery. Profit Sharing plan is great! Can own stock in the company for reduced prices, and the company matches a percentage of your 401K contributions.
Cons
Still seems to be a Good Old Boys' company, where the people who are promoted from within are (at least, at my Distribution Center) generally young White males, but mostly, promotion is from outside sources.
