      Small ($200 - 250M), private and family owned Good benefits Stable environment and a very senior workforce Growing and profitable Industry leader with innovative products Strong market share and industry penetration

      Cons

      Stuck in their ways, and easily challenged by new thinking Weak systems and processes Little willingness to take on risk, which isn't necessarily a bad thing Low accountability culture, with few penalties for poor performers Difficult to get fired, even for the incompetent

      stability, for better or worse

      Pros

      Very stable. Great work life balance if you get the right manager. Never missed a bonus even through the downturn. They sell to their existing customers very well. Still a family business after all these years.

      Cons

      The good-hearted management is completely out of touch with the staff. Command and control business structure, micro management and seniority rule. A lot of people cashing checks just waiting to retire.
