Pros

Monday- Friday 8 to 5 with low work load. OU has a rule of no computer use except work.

Cons

Staring at the computer is over rated when all patient's have been contacted and 10 out of 12 do not answer the phone. Performance expectations were unclear for a case manager. The work as presented was to complete specific information pages for each class of patient, i.e. Breast and Cervical cancer, emergency room usage, Asthma and a few other groups of high need patients. There were vizio's to guide the timing expectation of contacts. Politic viewpoint was very emphasized. Glenda the manager in Tulsa noted when asked about a nurse she hired, "she thinks like us". "She's one of us. " This is a new position and will be in year two with this contract with the Tulsa HAN and OHCA lasting until December, 2015. Management is local at OU Physician's with a local view of the program and the direction desired. And Tulsa OU who have written the Health Access Network (HAN) contract with OHCA. The supervisor's there mention a desire for a regional case management center. And the cases originated from the OHCA. Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA). The work environment was amazingly critical from day one.

Pros

It's absolutely a great place to work for an entry level position. Managers in our department is good. Regarding promotion, I think it's not easy, gotta work hard for it.

Cons

Dealing with different requests from doctors, nurses, surgery tech, or even the residents, sometimes the request is far from the reality and they expect us to deliver them anyway.

Pros

The best reason for me to work there is because I really wanted to work in a hospital/clinic atmosphere and the job gave me a lot of experience in the vast medical billing field. I would like to return to hospital setting but I'm willing to work myself up the ladder with work experience to be able to return to the hospital medical unit.

Cons

The one challenge I experienced while here at this job was trying to track down a Dr to verify his notes, for any errors a Dr had in his coding/notes etc.
