Pros

Worst place I’ve ever work but met some amazing people that deserve wayyy better then what this joke of a company is offering.

Cons

Promised a promotion week 2 and was given an excuse every time I had a review Promotions and raises depend on customers signing up for store card and even if you make the cut you get a 20 cent raise every year. My hours were cut to 10 hours a week because I got a second job in the field of work I have a degree in and needed 2 days off...

Pros

Benefits are good, coworkers are very nice, and company is very generous to all the communities they operate in.

Cons

50 Hour Work Week needs to be reduced so work life balance improves. Rarely is a 50 hour week really a 50 hour week based on the work load. Budgeted hours continue to decrease as the workload and expectations continue to increase. Something has to give. In terms of support, it all depends on who you have assigned to your store. Questions simply do not get responded to directly, instead the typical response is "Stay Tuned", what is that all about? Our district turns leadership constantly, is that a coincidence or is it a result of the poor support we are receiving?

Thank you for posting details on your experience and concerns. While we of course adjust staffing levels based upon the needs of the business, organizationally we have not reduced hours to stores over the last several years. With all that said, we would like to discuss these concerns with you. Please contact your district team leader or HR business partner to share your experiences.

Pros

Osjl offers decent pay for managers but they require a 50 hour work week.

Cons

You work 50 hours a week and Thursday thru Saturday you'll work the nights. Not much of a work life balance. You'll be scheduled every so often depending on what's going on that month, you'll be put on a 5.5 or 6 day work week. We need to get enough signatures and start a union environment where everyone is protected. We'll soon get there.

Thank you for taking the time to post details around your experience. What you have described is not the environment we foster nor one that OSJ would support. In terms of the work-life balance we all want, effective this year, we actually reduced the hours required for all store and field leaders during the holiday season. Balance is important to us all. Please reach out to your DTL, RD, your HR business partner or even the director of store operations to discuss your thoughts.
