Pros

OceanFirst is the best company in regards to niche products and have underwriters and processors in the office to help loans get approved. A portfolio lender gives capability to do loans that no mortgage company would do.

Cons

The only con would be the lack hires during the refi boom but its not a con because now that rates increased there were no need for mass lay offs

Pros

The company does take steps to assist their employees that want to advance in their careers with training courses, mentorship and on the job training. They also acknowledge hard work and dedication. I started out with Ocean City Home Bank as a bank teller and worked my way up to Branch Manager. Once OceanFirst acquired us, it allowed me to branch off and grow in my career by taking a chance on me in Payroll. Since then, I have learned so many more aspects of banking. The company also is extremely generous with the amount of time off employees acquire and encourage employees to take time off to take care of themselves and enjoy life outside of work.

Cons

The only con is acquisition. Although I understand that this is a method of conserving our name and company values, it does take a toll on the employees that work tirelessly to meet deadlines. However, once the deadlines are met and kinks are smoothed out, the sense of accomplishment and recognition received is very rewarding.
