If you’re only trained in one area it’s not so bad. However, being in one area is not an option.

Cons

Company will overwork you. They’ll expect you to cross train to multiple areas and run everything. You’ll only be paid an additional .30-.50 for cross training. So essentially the company wants to get away with not hiring enough people and just overworking the current ones for no money to them.

Plasma is a rewarding field to be in.

Cons

This company rarely knows what is going on. They just laid off hundreds of persons with no warnings and mediocre severance. This included upper regional managers down to supervisors. It's an unorganized mess right now.

Pros

Good things about working with Octapharma are the flexible schedules and easy requesting of off days. They might not always get approved, but if you ask far in advance I was typically approved. The benefits are good too, healthcare, vision, dental, and other additional benefits are very helpful depending if you have dependents or not. The work is honestly very easy in my opinion.

Cons

Management can be unsupportive in production, and if your location is understaffed, then it can feel frustrating. But don't go beyond your job title, do what you can at your own pace and the rest is out of your control. Breaks can be limited or nonexistent and upper management tends to care minimally for the employee's wellbeing if it puts a dent in production or scheduling.
