Pros

Odyssey house is truly a family. My parents worked here for 30years. Their commitment to this company has installed great values within me. Its an honor to work alongside them, and continue the path they set.

Cons

The expansion of the company is keeping us busy! I want to rest.

Pros

The only pro is if you are interested in working in Mental Health, this is useful on your resume.

Cons

Irresponsible management, clique behavior amongst management, the blame game is always happening, you are often doing 5 roles for the price of one and that one price is below livable wages, high turnover rates, management will ask what to do better, but use it against you later on (ex: you say better pay, they will respond with "if this isn't enough for you then why not find something else that can fulfill your greed." Little growth opportunities, and if you are able to negotiate for growth opportunities they will low ball your salary, also if you leave to pursue other opportunities, it is a huge hassle to get your 403(B) back.

Pros

Odyssey is a great opportunity for starting out. There is room for promotion if you prove yourself but pay for starting out is terrible. Wonderful co-workers mostly. Supportive management (somewhat) on a personal level, but not so much professional. Very family-like environment (at least at The Manor).

Cons

Pay is minimal, particularly for the work expected. The overall "system" is flawed, and you'll always be picking up someone else's workload. If they paid more, they'd invite more quality counselors that are invested in making change. The structure of the client program is flawed. There's minimal consequences or accountability for both staff and clients.
