Pros

When correctly staffed with experienced employees, this place ran smoothly. There are or were some genuine good employees that worked hard, and were friendly. That was a small percentage though.

Cons

Worked in ED. Often short staffed, You could find yourself with two critically ill people and you would get new patients in the other two room, and have no idea but pray the don’t need you right then. ED nurses would have to transport very ill patients to far locations, sometimes alone. When you left no one had time to watch your rooms, and the patient you taking upstairs? That room has been filled with a new person as soon as you left the unit. They are seen by the doc and you have a list of meds, ivs, blood draws to do before you make it back to assess your new patient. This place has SUPER CLIQUES, the charge RN are the same people who stay having friendships with managers, and got the easy Jobs to prove it, My first months I would leave utterly drained, and swear I would never come back. Finally a year was up I transferred out of there and was never so happy! I had no idea you could make same money on a different floor. I enjoyed fantastic team doing thorough professional nursing . It truely was half the work on a different floor. Too bad I wasted a year getting burned out. I love my new floor and team, it is a much much better situation! So other floors having caring managers.

Pros

The pay is pretty good

Cons

Favoritism is everywhere. They don't praise you for good work but will call you in on a one sided story. They let other employees continue to make the same errors over and over. Then tell you that accuracy is not important and you should fix other's mistakes. Very frustrating to work in that environment.

Pros

Direct patient care is always going to be a pro in my book. The company does care about the patients, but sometimes I feel like they treat healthcare as too much of a business. The night shift ER staff at Riverside was a dream to work with. Everyone for the most part is on top of things and get things done. Traumas are always dealt with precision and integrity, and everything is done to save lives.

Cons

After bringing a concern to HR that I believed someone was trying to sabotage my work by switching samples around, it continued to occur and I was ultimately fired for it. I did my part. I scanned and double checked names. But because I somehow made enemies with one of the MLT's, according to an inside source, this particular person hated me and wanted me gone. They got what they asked for and I have no way to prove my innocence. I'm left jobless and have had a hell of a time trying to convince any other potential employer that I'm worth employment. I've been on two interviews and both times have mysteriously been rejected after what seemed to be promising interviews. I can only assume my previous managers are behind it. My claims have fallen on deaf ears. No additional investigation was done at my request. Yes, I could take the issue to a lawyer, but at what cost to myself? Remember, I have no income right now. Going up against a wealthy bully like OhioHealth seems futile and not worth the effort in the end. It took 3 weeks for a coworker who was found to be stealing meds and medical equipment to get fired after multiple interviews with involved parties and a full company investigation into the matter, but I did not warrant the same benefits.
