Pros

Direct patient care is always going to be a pro in my book. The company does care about the patients, but sometimes I feel like they treat healthcare as too much of a business. The night shift ER staff at Riverside was a dream to work with. Everyone for the most part is on top of things and get things done. Traumas are always dealt with precision and integrity, and everything is done to save lives.

Cons

After bringing a concern to HR that I believed someone was trying to sabotage my work by switching samples around, it continued to occur and I was ultimately fired for it. I did my part. I scanned and double checked names. But because I somehow made enemies with one of the MLT's, according to an inside source, this particular person hated me and wanted me gone. They got what they asked for and I have no way to prove my innocence. I'm left jobless and have had a hell of a time trying to convince any other potential employer that I'm worth employment. I've been on two interviews and both times have mysteriously been rejected after what seemed to be promising interviews. I can only assume my previous managers are behind it. My claims have fallen on deaf ears. No additional investigation was done at my request. Yes, I could take the issue to a lawyer, but at what cost to myself? Remember, I have no income right now. Going up against a wealthy bully like OhioHealth seems futile and not worth the effort in the end. It took 3 weeks for a coworker who was found to be stealing meds and medical equipment to get fired after multiple interviews with involved parties and a full company investigation into the matter, but I did not warrant the same benefits.

Pros

Very welcoming to new grads, LOVED my coworkers, opportunity to change units/floors, close parking garage for night shift, nurses across the hospital are helpful and friendly, learned a ton

Cons

Take shuttle for day shift, many older nurses who have worked there for years and years who have too much pull, quick burnout due to intense patient population

Pros

OhioHealth offers some decent benefits. The tuition reimbursement program is excellent and they have affiliations with a number of colleges in Ohio so that you can select from the list. They do small, considerate things for their part time and full time employees such as purchasing brand name tennis shoes for them, awarding them bonus packages in the fall, offering concierge services, providing discounts to use for other companies, giving a guaranteed raise annually, awarding an anniversary bonus, PTO which they coin "TAP", FMLA benefits, disability, life insurance, 403 retirement, etc.

Cons

OhioHealth's Healthy Plan health insurance is very costly. HR is not helpful many times and very cold. Many times it's difficult to become internally promoted and often times they hire outside. Sometimes you don't feel like part of the team.
