Management is very friendly to dockworkers during the hiring process. Once your hired all you get every day is criticism and complaints by management. Lots of favoritism from the head terminal manager and his cronies too low, uneducated, hoodlum dock workers over more professional oriented dockworkers. No positive reinforcement, the dock workers jobs are threatened every day by management. Very cut throat on the dock, even if your only there for a few days and don't pull enough weight you can get canned. Management likes to remind employees how great they pay them (Intimidation Tactics). Top Management likes to visit and act non professional by preaching there political beliefs to dock workers. Street thug, neanderthal, co workers bad mouth you to management if they feel your a threat to their weight counts. Great Place to work if you like getting scolded every day and being treated like a child.

Management seems to be pretty "cut-throat". I was laid off based on seniority, yet they pride themselves on being non-union. We used to joke about filling grievances, but in all honesty, I would've filed numerous if I could have.
