Pros

great place to forge relationships with other young hard working professionals. free snacks. the free wheeling management style can make it interesting to get experience. attempt to balance personal and work life.

Cons

A "me too" management consulting firm. Narrowly focused on solutions in the risk management analytics space. Poor focus on knowledge building. More seat-of-the-pants management style. Even with the expertise in risk management and having worked extensively for clients that no longer exist in the financial services space were unable to understand the magnitude of the financial crisis. Infact had a document circulated to consultants talking about the exaggeration of the impact of the crisis put out by one of their rising star partner . These were meant as talking points to advise clients that they should continue with their programs as if business-as-usual.

Pros

Open culture, great colleagues, entrepreneurial atmosphere, self-leadership and freedom to develop. OW offers great freedom for the individual to pick up tasks that will develop the company and oneself, e.g. participation in recruiting activities, business development, IC generation, etc. The corporate culture is open and balanced, it feels to some extend that you are working with friends as the team is young, driven and like-minded.

Cons

Work-life balance. But still benchmark among top consulting firms The mix of industries is not extremely high and depends on the location of the office. However, with the new vertical BU structure this might be changing soon.

Pros

Oliver Wyman is a great firm with top quality talent, with a culture that attracts people that are genuinely interested in helping each other succeed. Strong on-the-job coaching and mentorship in the case team environment, transparent performance measurement with rigorous feedback, quick promotions for high achievers, excellent opportunities for MBA programs or industry positions when leaving the firm.

Cons

The usual downsides of management consulting: heavy workload, lots of travel, unpredicatable schedules, difficulty maintaining a reasonable work/life balance while also meeting the constant expectation for very high performance. This intensity makes the firm a great place to learn a lot in a short period of time but a challenging place to stay for an extended career.
