Pros

Interesting projects to work on. Benefits are okay.

Cons

Company brags about having a work life balance but this is far from the truth. High employee utilization goals 90-95%, but PTO and mandatory holidays count against utilization. Employees are forced to work 42-45 hours a week just to keep up with utilization which affects bonuses and end of the year raises. No work life balance. Harsh deadlines and employee burnouts are very common. Company is not employee focused but client (money) focused. CEO and upper management flies around on a private jet to talk to employees about their utilization rates which is terrible.

Coworkers AMAZING - management catching up

Pros

You will be surrounded by some of the best and brightest engineers, planners and designers. Down to the last person, everyone I worked with was highly motivated and great at their job. This doesn’t mean they overwork - everyone in junior to mid-level staff is truly aware of work:life balance and they respect boundaries. There is also support for internal trainings and professional development.

Cons

There is little understanding for non-traditional AEC markets by the management team. As an organic growth oriented organization, you would think more management would show interest in learning the day to day work being done by the highest performing teams. Because there isn’t engagement, then there seems to be quick turns in strategy to the next big shiny marketplace. Also, it’s difficult to speak on DE&I goals when management only is a particular dynamic and there isn’t any support for DE&I hires.
