Pros

The atmosphere is okay, and the buildings are nice. Half days on Fridays (if you're not working OT, which you normally are). There is some mild flexibility when it comes to your work schedule. Oh, and there's a booze fridge!

Cons

Micromanagent is awful here! You could be a Rockstar and have the best track record and you'll still be micromanaged. There is absolutely no room for growth here. They keep you where they want you regardless of how outstanding your end of year review is. The pay is also WAY below market rate, and the raises are laughable. The bonus at the end of year is okay, but it's not worth the little pay. The only people who enjoy working here are those in the Good Ol' Boys club, and those in an adjacent clique. There are 2 individuals specifically that make up one clique that, everyone who has worked for them, has either cried, quit or given up and gotten fired. Some (my previous boss) doesn't know anything about the software you're using, but makes demands out of you that are nearly impossible at times to some extent. This person was also quite hostile towards me when I put in my 2-weeks. The environment there is also significantly worse for women and BIPOCs I personally didn't have a terrible time, as I had some decent team mates. But even then, the passive aggressiveness and micromanagent was still present, regardless of what personal situations might be present. They don't care if you have a sick or dying relative, they don't care about your depression, they don't care if your kids are sick, and the sure don't care about your social life. You have to use PTO for everything. No sick leave or bereavement leave. And you don't have much PTO, and you only have 6-7 holidays. And no, you don't get the day after Thanksgiving or the day before/after Christmas. And I've had a few colleagues confide in me recently about why they left or why they wish they could leave. And some of them have truly been put through the ringer. Some have cried every day from the stress. And all are ecstatic once they're able to leave.

Poor Managment

Pros

Relaxed work environment, friendly co-workers, they have a lot of "team building" happy hours and barbecues.

Cons

There seems to be a pattern of promoting the incompetent people into management. They don't appreciate the good people they have and would rather promote from outside the company rather than from within. Very small opportunity for advancement unless you like to suck up and are good at it.
