Pros

Free to succeed environment. Non-Metric driven environment. Middle Management cares about their employees. They provide you with a lot of the necessary tools to be successful as a recruiter (job boards/LinkedIn recruiter). Managing Director of National Recruiting is a fantastic person who has a genuine interest in the lives of his team. The commission structure is great and rolls over 100% when you go from tier to tier, which is phenomenal. They do not force you into a ton of the extras that the staffing industry pushes (multiple happy hours a week, "team bonding" drinking fests, etc., but rather allow you to have a healthy work-life balance. They'll promote you if you perform. This is legitimately a place where if you're looking to make a lot of money, know what you're doing, and are 100% self-motivated, you'll make a ton of money.

Cons

Unstructured/free environment that is probably great for someone who is really seasoned and knows 100% of what they're doing, but isn't great for people who are learning and trying to develop themselves. The culture is a bit "flat" (non-engaging), and it seems like the partners who own the company are almost entirely disinterested in anything other than profit numbers and the NYC team. It seems like every other week there is a new "initiative" that will go into practice that is never followed through on. Mentorship is sparse and non-intentional. Benefits are sub-par and PTO schedule is not good either.

Thank you so much for sharing. Without your feedback, we cannot make the necessary changes to ensure eternal happiness among our employees. We're sorry that, from your experience, the mentorship program felt "sparse" and "non-intentional," but we can assure each mentor is assigned to our new hires after many in-depth and strategic conversations! Although each office receives a culture calendar tailored to their location, we will pay special attention to make sure that the Charlotte office feels more engaged. OST leadership cares tremendously about all of our employees and appreciates you taking the time to share your thoughts!
