Its okay... Not long term, a stepping stone kind of job.
Pros
- Overtime always available how you make money for reall - paid twice a month 40 hours is around 1000$ so base pay 2000 a month. - They do respect monthly availabilities. - Overall is a good job and stepping stone, can be very stressful at times. - there are bonuses each paycheck from the government depending on how many hours you work. $150ish a paycheck. - Some of the staff are very nice and try to help each other out. - good resume builder - pto is good!! if you work full time 40 hours a week you can earn 12 PTO days a year, about 3 hours are earned a pay period. You can earn more PTO through overtime. Which is fantastic!
Cons
- Will get asked by coworkers and office ppl to cover a lot. Have to say no when know when to draw the line. - Some customers are nice as long as you are nice to them, you will have to work with people in crisis mode and unfortunate situations. - most likely will have to work with poop and pee in houses - some of the customers are nice and respectable, others are predators you need to beware. - Office people sometimes are kind and other times really take DSP's for granted and rude to them. - Office people will do ANTHING to get out of working with customers. - is a VERY underpaid job for how stressful it can be. Other agency's that do the same work pay 18-20 for DSPs a hour. Optimae underpays DSP's a lot!!! starting wage around 13ish.
