Pros

I have been in identity and access management space for quite some time. Trying to write down every thing what I felt so far in OPTIV security Bangalore India. 1. All latest cyber security tools in use 2. Great learning 3. Really smart people and experts in their field. 4. Excellent work life balance. I have never seen such a flexible company in my career of 10 years 5. Training on the latest and rising products in market like saviant , identity now, Cyberark, okta, sailpoint iiq and more 6. Ample amount of resources available if you are willing to learn. OPTIV gives you a platform where u can create any number of VMs and install any tool or software Or cyber product to learn and all this without any approval. I have seen ppl using more than 20 personal VMs with 16/32 GB RAM and installed all kind of cyber related tools for learning or POC. 7. Best part is that you will have enough time to explore cyber products and use those VMs 8. Partnered with all cyber security product 9. Job stability 10. Zero micromanagement. 11. Open door policy and you can meet the country head anytime u want 12. Free snacks 13. You are hired ,it means the management trusts you. No body gives a damn even if u come at 1 pm and leave at 3 pm, if you deliver ur work. 14. Work from home 15. IAM team works as pure consultants model 16. Very skilled onsite team. 17. Everyone is a contributor. You won't find a manager who is just doing people management. Most of the manager have great technical expertise. So if u are stuck in ur work, then manager understands the problem u are facing. It will never be like a peculiar manager whose only job is to ask status and fill excels. 18. Pays better than average 19. Hikes are decent

Cons

1. Company structure changes often 2. Still trying to grow outside US-canada region 3. If you aspire to be a manager without technical knowledge, it's a hard place to survive. 4. High rejection rate in interviews 5. Bonus policy changes often and people are still trying to understand. 6. Onsite opportunity is limited. 7. Office location in Bangalore is not on main routes. it will be tough if use public transport. 8. It's hard to get fancy job titles. I have seen people stuck in Senior security consultant roles with 10-12 years of experience. 9. If you aspire to lead a team always then this is not the place for you. Surprisingly, people here like to be as an individual contributor. The onsite consultant will give you a use case and you have to do it. (Specific to IAM team). You will hardly get To handle a team as such. No role like team lead. 10. Interview has high rate of rejection in IAM team as they want people who are capable to deliver individually. People around you will be highly capable. So if you stuck in ur work, it's high chance that u get the help from a colleague instantly, so being individual contributor doesn't drain ur blood. But this is not a place if you want to work in a team of 5-6 or more from offshore.

Pros

Good paymaster Free Transport Good Client

Cons

Just Started, after being on contract. Company Induction was extremely below the standard. HR Traveled from USA seemed disconnected from India Culture and Management. Every Body was throwing their own story. This Place become the fish market. It was presented in induction that Optiv has a road map to grow but cant be trusted as of now because Multinational in Bangalore cant be run over fabricated and sponsored review.

Pros

The Corporate Strategy is bang on in the USA....as is the execution in the USA...., the Canadian Country Manager knows what he is talking about and has a plan in place for success, but that is where it all ends. This company has zero chances of success in Canada until the ELT in the USA begin to understand that Canada is a net new market and not California. The Sales and Support Team are amazing....and the CEO is a brilliant guy....also very personable...

Cons

Unfortunately beyond the sales team and the Canadian Country Manager, no one in the company understand Canada. In 2015 the VP in the USA who Canada reported into was changed. From then on the downward spiral began. Having a VP who does not understand currency changes, or for that matter has not been to Canada for 46 years proved to be a challenge greater than anyone could have imagined. The company is rock solid in the USA. In Canada its a sales team, all of whom are in the process of leaving, and some amazing SA's. Pricing, costs etc are all done in USD and converted. Quotas in USD and converted. To say the least it was a great run, until changes were made that brought the Canadian Team to their knees.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. You bring up a number of valid points, many of which are being addressed at this time. The integration of Accuvant and Fishnet in 2015 was a top and strategic corporate priority, and as with every major integration, there were bumps along the way, most of which have smoothed out. As we head into 2016, the Executive Leadership Team is very much aligned with your viewpoint that the leadership, support and enablement of international expansion, in particular in Canada, are all areas which warrant increased focus, priority and investment. To that end, we’ll be announcing a new Country General Manager, Canadian by heritage, collaborative by nature, and with significant general management experience in growing a US-based business in Canada, with deep understanding and sensitivity in that building and leading a Canadian market business is different than that of a US, despite a number of similarities between US and Canadian business practices and cultures. In concert with bringing in a new leader, Optiv is substantially increasing investment in Canada-based resources, including Client Managers, Solution Architects, and Consultants. With the Accuvant and Fishnet integration now complete, Optiv is highly focused on making our Canadian business as successful and robust as the market offers. There is much more we can share on the topic but perhaps this Glassdoor company review page is not the appropriate channel to have this discussion. We would like to extend the opportunity to discuss your concerns further. Please, feel free to reach out to Chris Stolley, VP of Sales, and continue this conversation. We would like to clear any frustration or mis-perceptions you may have. Thanks!
