Pros

Optiv provides a large number of career opportunities and growth between divisions. As a top tier security provider the internal training opportunities and sophisticated client base allow for tremendous individual growth. Every day I am surrounded by incredibly intelligent security leaders and top tier technical talent. Benefits and salary are highly competitive with other employers. The culture and environment is business in the front, party in the back. Optiv has also experienced relatively little attrition after the merger of two large players in the space which speaks for itself. If Optiv maintains their nimbleness and forward momentum they will continue to be a major player in the security space.

Cons

No major cons of note. Optiv is a new brand composed of fishnet and accuvant along with other acquisitions. In time more brand recognition will happen.

Pros

At any other company you can go your entire career and never see the level of complex projects that i have seen, the opportunities at Optiv are tremendous, and to truly be the expert, not just to be perceived as an expert but to have a command of the technologies that most will never have, and to have the vendors and clients come to us for solutions to difficult problems, while no one starts out as an expert, it is through the continuous training, standardized methodology (some technologies are more complete than others), building new methodologies, and consistent execution that we bring that builds the consultants capability.

Cons

Some people can't keep up with the fast pace, it is very easy to burn consultants out, while work life balance is emphasized, the current consultant incentive plan only rewards behaviors that benefit the here and now.

Pros

The opportunity to be a part of one of the most pivotal organizations in the security industry. The ability to help clients throughout the entire security program life cycle, from project to program. The colleagues you work along with are among the most professional in their fields.

Cons

Change is not easy, and this is a period of evolution. Flexibility is required, but there is plenty of work to be done for those that apply themselves.
