Pros

The environment is fun and collaborative to work in. Also the hours are good and the benefits are solid as well. Good signing bonuses are involved, as well as PTO, 401k match, and unlimited sick days.

Cons

The work is monotonous at times, and the office dynamic constantly shifts. So does management's requirements, as Oracle is continually shifting into the cloud model. Customers may have an aversion to speaking with Oracle representatives, and management and sales positions depend on just more than good work.

Pros

Excellent training programs. Great healthcare. Excellent facilities. Good place to start a career in IT sales.

Cons

The culture is broken. The unproductively high level of internal competition for the customer budget is intentional (driven by senior leaders), and drives good people out of the organization. Only those who are willing to play the political games will survive. Employees are considered expendable. The internal CRM system the sales reps are mandated to use is un-intuitive and cumbersome.

Territory Sales Manager

Pros

Oracle sales provides excellent opportunities for sales people to achieve excellent compensation. Salespeople also have a lot of latitude and autonomy in managing their territories and activities to meet sales objectives.

Cons

Oracle emphasizes quarterly results and everything is geared toward making the quotas from the highest VP down to the field. While this is not unexpected in any sales role, because of the quarterly focus, there is little in the way of professional development and career guidance. While the self-service nature of Oracle is great for representatives who value independence, this also translates into taking control of your own career progression.
