The Company of PIPS

Pros

Salary and the companies ability to lie to you about the morale and company health.

Cons

Toxic company ran by numbers. Training is not efficient, management will turn and burn through employees, if you are not at your numbers 3 months out of training, you will be on a PIP and fired. No work life balance. They will expect you to sacrifice time with your family, and make you fly out on Sundays for meetings. They do not care about your personal life.

There’s no “oi” in team

Pros

Salary wasn’t bad. Holidays and vacation package was fine. Maternity leave is paid. Heard the health insurance has good coverage.

Cons

Teamwork is not valued nor is working with or communication between departments. It is setup in very strict silos. There’s no real plan or at least it’s not communicated. Every department is out for themselves and since there’s no interdepartmental communication, that seems to lead to lots of holes to plug and fires to fight. IT is horrendous. So behind and poorly managed.

Pros

It's very busy. The days fly by, and due to the fast pace, I'm able to take on challenging work assignments, and learn constantly. My manager trusts me and gives me the opportunity to jump in. She encourages my professional development as well, encouraging me to attend classes and webinars. We have a strong team and I always feel that if I need to bounce an idea off someone, they're open to listening. We back each other up when needed. Benefits are very good, including a great tuition reimbursement program, as is location in the suburbs for those who don't want to commute into Boston or Cambridge, or worse, drive up 128 to Bedford/Burlington area.

Cons

We're growing quickly and that can have its challenges as far as needing more help, but I think it will be addressed in time. There could be more company-wide communication.
