Pros

Global market opportunities. Were world leaders in safety systems. Had excellent Engineering management systems and were leaders in contributing to Australian Standards.

Cons

I worked for this company when it formed and I left in the mid 2000s. I have submitted this review to let prospective employees know that the ugly traits mentioned in recent reviews have been imbedded in the company ever since it formed. Strong culture of bullying (including high profile case that ended up in court) and sociopaths (managers who only care about their own self interests and have no loyalty to the company).

Pros

Supportive culture - at times and as long as you tow the official lines and nod yes.

Cons

- Selfish leadership - Focus on personal gain and interests - Too much focus on form and optics rather than substance - Yes man rewards - always - Extremely diluted and weak assurance and compliance regimes

Pros

Global reach. Leader in their market segment. Exciting and diverse work. Met and worked with some extraordinary people along the way.

Cons

The culture has deteriorated over the last decade. Management team is full of sycophants. Cronyism is rife. The business has simply thrown away so much experience and talent that got them to where they are, to be replaced by mates from mining companies with no idea about what it means to run a global explosives manufacturing enterprise and little concern for people. Then they leave or are thrown out and the cycle continues. Everyone is constantly watching their back for the next round of heads to be chopped. There is almost no one i know who has not been executed by management and had their full time contract terminated. There is a culture of bullying and harassment that goes with the pressure applied.
