The pros of this job are minimal. Heading into my experience at origami they promised all Bdrs hit their numbers. In my tenure there that was not true at all. Only positive I had was working with my BDR colleagues

Cons

Upper management. Director of Bus Dev only is concerned about numbers and not the good of the reps. BDRs were once called “overhead costs” in a meeting by a higher up. Minimal opportunities for career growth as well.

Cons

Heard a lot of "but this is how we have always done it" in response to thoughts on how to improve process and information distribution. Legacy employees in high level roles need to lead change management from the front rather than resisting becoming a large scale operation Manager was more likely to blame and question dedication after easy fix mistakes than looking to help develop a relationship of mentorship and trust. Made it a difficult environment to ask questions - did not always feel like they were setting us up for success Bounced around back office roles to help aid staff shortages in other areas too often to feel effective or too knowledgable in any area

Pros

Leave the ego at the door and solve fun complex issues. People in general are professional and easy to work with. Great product, great service, support, product, and developers.

Cons

New Development leadership is toxic micromanagers. They do not listen to development teams and make changes. They do not give teams power to make changes themselves. VP micromanages everything and it is clear he and his minions do not know how to lead and do not trust the people that work for them.
