Pros

It's exciting to play an active role in a product that can drastically change the lives of so many people. I feel the impact every day, and that's incredibly rewarding and motivating. The leadership team takes our Core Values to heart, and listens to the opinions and ideas of every employee. I feel appreciated here, and cared for both professionally and personally.

Cons

It's a small, earlier-stage start-up, and that naturally comes with constant change, some uncertainty, and challenges to work through. This isn't the place for someone who likes to have the same, consistent day-to-day work life.

Pros

Oshi serves a population that is in great need and the work itself can be meaningful. Many team members are dedicated, collaborative, and genuinely invested in helping clients improve. When teamwork was supported, collaboration across clinicians helped clients make real progress and feel well cared for. The mission has strong potential and fills an important gap in services

Cons

Despite the importance of the work, productivity was consistently prioritized over clinician wellbeing. Caseloads and performance expectations were often unsustainable, with limited attention to burnout, work–life balance, or long-term sustainability. There was also pressure to stretch or work at the edges of licensing and scope-of-practice restrictions, which created ethical concerns and placed clinicians in uncomfortable professional positions. Overall, the emphasis on output and growth outweighed support for clinicians and regulatory integrity.

Pros

-Wonderfully supportive dietitian colleagues -Great pay, PTO and benefits compared to other clinical opportunities -Work from home flexibility/ability to flex operating hours to accommodate doctors appointments, family matters, etc.

Cons

-For full transparency, we have to schedule 32 hours of patient facing time per week. We currently have 45 minute onboarding visits (with 15 minute buffers to chart) and 30 minute follow up visits (with no buffers between patients) which often equates to 40+ patients a week. They just announced that they will be taking the 15 minute buffers away from the onboarding visits (since they are expecting high enrollments in January) which means we will have back to back visits without breaks unless we are very intentional about scheduling our patient blocks to allow a space in between (but this naturally means you are working longer days if you are constantly creating 15’ breaks during the day). This could mean upwards of 50 patients a week. The company is also trying to enforce 40 minute onboarding visits and 20 minute follow up visits. This may be realistic for APPs but this is absolutely not enough time for RDs to make a meaningful impact. People who are not RDs are making these decisions and it will absolutely compromise patient care in the long run. I think they are looking for RDs who are willing to recommend quick fixes rather than creating meaningful individualized nutrition plans. -Leads seem to be leads just because they were hired before others, not because the exude leadership qualities. I do think RD Leadership pushes back on some of the policies noted above, but I’m not sure how assertive they are. Non-lead RDs are often just told this is the new expectation. I was once told that if we ‘want to continue to have a job the company has to make money’ instead of being authentic about how stressed we all are for time and really making us feel like they are doing everything they can to improve our day to day. -The tech is still messy. Constantly having issues with video calls, AI platforms and EMR. -A lack of high quality patient resources and no time to put towards additional trainings/handout creations.
