Pros

I love working at Oura! I started during a pandemic like many employees here at Oura and it has been great getting to know employees and learning from everyone here. There are many fun activities to participate in weekly and the leadership team is very forthcoming with what is happening in the company. Although we are a start-up there is not the normal start-up drama you get. Everyone here works hard and actually lives up to the values that the company believes in. The leadership team and many employees represent the values here which is a breath of fresh air compared to other companies that do not live their values. While everyone is WFH there are a lot of perks to make everyone feel more comfortable. I was set-up with all the tech I needed, lunch on Fridays, and my own ring! I'm excited to grow with this amazing company.

Cons

WFH may be temporary during COVID

Pros

I joined the company within the last year and have been pleasantly surprised, especially onboarding remotely, by the company's focus on values and culture. So many companies talk a good game, but Oura has demonstrated its sincere interest in building a great company culture that truly supports its people. It's also great to see a good mix of male and female leaders throughout the company. Really looking forward to building my career here for a while.

Cons

The company needs to hire A LOT more people to do everything it wants to do. It seemingly cannot be done fast enough and lacks the recruiting capabilities it needs to do it.

Pros

Oura is a mission driven company and the enthusiasm from both leadership and employees reflects that. Product feature decisions are data and research driven and there are interesting problems to solve around health and wellness, that actually help people live healthier lives. There are great efforts from HR happening around company culture (even during the pandemic) and establishing an IDE group for an inclusive workplace.

Cons

The company is in its awkward teenager years, where the company is not quite a small startup anymore but growing rapidly towards more a mid-size company. This comes with growing pains when it comes to refining and establishing team processes and relationships, as well as the company roadmap — which is pretty normal considering the growth stage of the company. The time difference between the US and the Nordics can sometimes be challenging and requires a lot of asynchronous communication.
