Pros

Have a set career path, with the options of branching out. Have another field you are interested in after starting with OwnLocal? You have the opportunity to transition within the company. Gives you responsibility from day one. Free lunch everyday. Take it when you need it vacation policy. Free Starbucks.

Cons

Just like any growing startup, could get acquired at any moment, which is a pro or con.

Thanks for leaving this note--it's always good to hear positive things from employees. It might be interesting for you to know that while we have had several opportunities to sell the company over the years, we have turned them all down because money is not the most important thing to our team, nor to me personally. OwnLocal has been successful not because of a great idea, but because of the amazing people that have executed on that idea. My number one goal at OwnLocal is to provide a space for hard-working people to do the best work of their lives, and to me, that's more important than an easy exit.

Pros

There are some really interesting opportunities for anyone willing to work hard, take responsibility, and leave gossip at the door. I think that the company does a good job of balancing work, family, and fun by maintaining a strong culture. I have read some reviews that discuss the interview process. Is the process perfect? Probably not. Is it better or at least more thorough than most other companies, probably. Everyone goes through it and what I have seen is that those who are hired usually fit the job and the company. 1) Amazing group of people that really care about customers 2) Room to grow - I have seen talented and hard-working people take on new roles in less than a year. 3) Stability- the company is growing pretty fast and has been around for +5 years

Cons

Processes that worked at 20 employees and 40 employees are starting to crack under the pressure of 60 employees.
