I had a very horrible experience working in the HR department. They should be honest and call it the Personnel Office or Labor Acquisition Department. There is little respect for people and their individual dignity and well being. Not uncommon at all to hear inappropriate comments about employees (age, weight, looks, ethnic features) from the leadership! They view coming to work sick and when the roads are hazardous (and Sound Transit isn't running) and handling abusive behavior as a requirement and a badge of honor. Despite the economy and people seeking security in employment, turnover in the HR department was astounding and leadership didn't care.

It is very easy to get frustrated with the culture in the company. The employees treat the Executive leaders like Gods. It is not uncommon for people to run around saying the "Chairman is coming clean your desk." As sad as it is the Chairman has nothing better to do than worry about whether someones desk is tidy or not. The dress is over the top business. Heaven forbid you take the elevator without your jacket of your suit on because the chairman might see you. It is no wonder more people don't quit with companies like Amazon and Microsoft so close that actually understand a work/life balance.
