Pros

PACCAR is a stable company.

Cons

The top-down, hierarchical management style is degrading. Starbucks, Pepsi, and Mercendez Benz brands were not allowed to be purchased by employees. Pepsi did not purchase PACCAR products, Mercedez Benz was a competitor, and Starbucks meant that you had wasted 'corporate time' in getting coffee. Fear tactics are established to keep their employees 'in line'.

Pros

It is a stable company and they pay for all education that is translatable to your job. Including everything from your MBA to continuing Education at a CC. Very structured.

Cons

Very conservative company culture. It feels like an anarchy with the current CEO. It is never a good thing if you hear anything from him, and everyone seems to be scared of the consequences. Rarely ever are there casual days. It is hard to be creative in this work environment as facial hair is frowned upon and having much more than a sentimental picture on your desk is seen as clutter.

Dusty and stuffy company to work for.

Pros

The company is stable, had made a profit every quarter for more years in a row than many of it's employees have been alive. However, the size and old school mentality can often make one feel like they are working for the government.

Cons

They place a premium on education over experience, which is NOT the best choice in a lot of cases. People with years of experience will get passed over for a greenhorn with nothing more than a degree from one of their "preferred" schools. Very, very political company at the managerial level.
