Pros

-Ability to learn how to analyze data

Cons

-Horrible leadership and management -Unequal pay based on race and sex of the person -Will not progress in the company unless you are a brown noser or know someone high up in the company -If you are a hard worker, they will overload you with work and stress you out while your peers sit around on their phone or socialize majority of the day -Managers don't develop the people they oversee, everyone is just going through the motions -Company is very old school and conservative, no flexibility or comfortability -Rumors, gossip, and bashing is rampant like wildfire -Management and leadership plan your whole career out for you without your input, so expect to be career blocked when applying for other positions within the company

A below average company with an outdated mentality

Pros

Pension and 401k, very stable company. It's a good place to gain experience, then move on.

Cons

PACCAR is an extremely conservative company with very outdated company values and culture. At corporate, the old school mentality is VERY prominent. Executives have their own dining on the top floor while all other employees must eat at the cafeteria in the windowless basement. Professional attire 5 days a week, business casual days are a joke- They happen a few days out of the year, they are not announced, and it basically only means you do not need to wear a blazer/tie. Vacation policy, especially for new hires, is not competitive. Medical plan benefits are on the pricier side in comparison to other companies. Basic perks like coffee and ORCA Card are not provided. Getting new equipment is extremely tough, you basically have to wait until your computer/screens die. Salaries are very low and below average.

Pros

+ Pretty good work experience, can be a good place to build experience to go somewhere better. + Nice coworkers. + Benefits are solid. + Decent work-life balance.

Cons

- Lean philosophy = phase out positions, work your existing employees harder, don't give anyone a pay raise (unless they're management). - Salary starts low and they continually make you work harder for the same pay. They also just instated a new policy to reduce overtime pay for overtime-eligible employees, no pay reductions for management though! - No work from home starting August. Not even 1 day a week, even if you can do 100% of your work successfully from home. Compare that to virtually every other company in the area. - Company just doesn't care about employee needs (unless they're management). Frustrations are logged and ignored. Equipment (computers, chairs, etc) are old and won't be improved unless there's a need, and even then it can take forever. They don't try to make any adaptations or improvements for the sake of employees (unless they're management).
