Could be so much better...

Pros

Products you're proud to be associated with, solid financial performance year after year, some decent benefits including a well-funded pension plan. High employee turnover creates lots of opportunities for others to get promoted.

Cons

Cronyism and nepotism are rampant. Don't even think about working here if you have facial hair. And you'd better love to wear a suit and tie to work every day. Managment spends a majority of their time locked in conference rooms preparing for the next presentation to senior managers.

Pros

New President and CEO – good reputation; intelligent; potential to move the company in the direction they should go in the 21st century if allowed to do so. A lot of talented and hard-working individuals work for this company.

Cons

PACCAR has been outclassed in benefits over the past 10 years regionally by just about any other employer. Salaries are not competitive for the Pacific Northwest. Salary structures only get reviewed/changed every ten years. Very strict workplace environment; independent thinking/actions not welcomed.

Pros

Our Bellevue, Renton and Kirkland locations are easy to access from I-405.

Cons

We focus 90% of our energy on putting our colleagues down, to highlight our own meager successes. We spend half of each Friday drumming up a report of "significant events", to give Sr. Management an inflated picture of the things we have accomplished. We stress WAY too much over each other's attire and grooming. If someone shows up wrinkled, dirty, or immodest, we literally make note of it, and include it in their performance appraisal and/or discussions for promotion. We think semi trucks are exciting.
