Pros

Pay and Benefits and as an hourly employee you are protected by your union

Cons

Work/Life balance non-existent. "Forced" overtime happens all too often because they will not properly staff AND TRAIN people. Hypocritical management. They talk about and preach safety being a priority...reality: as long as it it doesn't cost too much money or interfere with production, then it is a priority. Reactive rather than proactive. Knee jerk over reaction is the norm. Blanket blame to all employees rather than on an individual basis. They preach there is no place for fear and intimidation in the work place yet throughout the company, top production VP's included, they will yell and threaten. Not uncommon for so called "leaders" to pound tables and throw hard hats. Kind of comical actually... Always looking to place blame on a person rather than the process or managerial planning, or lack there of. Real leadership does not exist. Employees are a liability, not an asset. Attitude is "next man up" with total disregard for the years of service and knowledge a person brings to the table.

Pros

I am a former employee. Worked there for 10 plus years. People there were like family. Pay was good.

Cons

Saw a lot of people with 10, 15, or even more years of loyalty let go due to management issues. If you question management you become a target. Management is not based on what you know but who u know. Only way to get promoted was if you were best friends, high school buddies or family member. Saw too many people with years of experience get passed over for a supervisors buddy. Sad when employees are teaching management on operations of machines. Useless because when you need help and they dont know they blame you for not knowing how to fix the problem and repremand you for not keeping up with expectations. Also safety is preached but overlooked when production is behind. Saw many instances where shortcuts were allowed untill someone got hurt then let go for safety violation.management degrade and harass you to get numbers up but not much is done to help out. Several years ago moral was so bad and accident were on the rise due to employees not being appreciated that they did a full sweep from the top down. Life was good and pride was back but now the same situation. Needs to be wiped out again or history will repeat itself.
