Pros

Seem to have a lot of benefits. Pay is good.

Cons

Unethical diagnoses of periodontal disease. EVERYONE is told they need a deep cleaning because it gets more money. They are told they also need laser treatment for their gums which has ZERO scientific evidence that it works. They sell it like it's necessary for healing because insurance won't pay and it's a pure money maker. The hygienists are brainwashed and motivated by commission, not compassion. The most importance is placed on the bottom line: numbers. Patients are a number. Get the money and get em out. Treatment must be done same day cuz only God knows what tomorrow holds! They could be hit by a bus on the way home! (Actually heard that in training!) No compassion. Just a "puppy-mill" mentality that made me sick. No ethics. Witnessed back stabbing, gossip, rude managers and arrogance. Not a healthy place to work. If u have a moral code, run from this place.

Pros

They have a good work life balance , good hours and hence great work life balance. Good technology . Associate salaries start at about 500$/ day but can go down as low as 400$ for FT employees, Health and Dental insurance . They make water donations to Ethiopia . Offer CE courses

Cons

A lot of micro management and hence high stress environment. Doctors are encouraged to not take a lunch break and work 9 hour days providing what they call the "perfect patient experience". there is no concept of sick or vacation time for doctors. (No pay I. E. ). Doctors are constantly pressurized to attend meetings that are usually more like marketing events to brainwash new docs fresh out of school. Number driven and usually the only number that matters is the average daily production, every other number to measure doctors performance and patient care gets sidelined. So a good doctor is =Makes more $. They don't practice what they preach , they say they want associate doctors to provide visibility into a practice and any other staff issues but will ignore you when you do so. A lot of unrealistic demands from doctors, I was expected from time to time to make production every day with dental assistants in training. And if you try to complain about such relevant issues you indirectly get innuendos that your job is threatened. For 400$/ day , no thanks I would rather be a hygienist.

Pros

The only pro I could think about is that if you are desperate for a Job and need a position, they will hire you regardless of what you say or do at interview. Pacific has such a high rate of turn over, people quit quite often.

Cons

Pay seems great in theory when you are presented with a job but in reality PDS way of pay is so complicated that you are promised money that you never end up seeing. I never saw the bonus I was offered at the interview because of some new reason always. There is a lot of unethical dentistry happening and I left because I could never agree to put my license on line for a few corporate numbers. Most of the time, I ended up fixing previous dentists work because so many people left that all the treatment plans are half done only. Will overcharge patients for everything. Owners are so greedy and take all cases that generate more money, making 5k a month itself is pain. Management was of not much help either. If you speak ill of the company or it’s ways, you become the bad guy instead of taking initiative to fix things. Work hours were also draining. 10hrs a day 5 days and also some meetings after work hours. All the offices are very heavily based on new patients so you are forced to see a full extra column of new patients all day and their new patient exams are free. You are always overworked. So, you are basically seeing people for nothing much in return. You’ll also see that the office dental assistants or managers are always the older employees but there is always a new dentist in house so the assistants and manners basically rule the office instead of you deciding how to do your dentistry. They know that you’ll quit and there will be a new doc anyways. Very dangerous environment to put your license to put through, that you work so hard to get.
