Pros

You gain experience. Hours are flexible. And since they are short on staff you get away with anything at all.

Cons

4 billion dollar company and Salary is a joke. While executives and management get thousands in bonuses and raises, employees in ROC department are handed out cents for raises. No bonuses. Employees need to complete training modules and once completed management will obtain a raise while employee gets what? Nothing. HR is a joke, people fight in the middle of the hall and no one says anything. No one is reprimanded. Other department managers create a position for her team/friends to validate a bigger raise. No chance of growth. College and preparation is offered and when you enter your information you are disqualified because the offer is only for clinical office employees not for ROC department employees.

Pros

Learning about the Dental field was endlessly fascinating and their technology was cutting edge. They bring quite a bit to the table for a dentist that doesn't want to learn business and focus only on practicing dentistry. The benefits if you needed dental work were really great.

Cons

Incredibly low paying job for the hours expected, poor leadership in the Rocky Mountain Region, poor choices in hiring their practitioners (probably because the compensation can't even cover their student loans and students seem to be the only ones willing to go to work for them), and a life-work balance that doesn't exist for any employee in a leadership role (Lead DA, Practitioners, Operations Managers). All the new managers they are hiring to fill in at existing offices will only be cleaning up messes created by poor managers from the past. I literally spent my entire work day addressing problems from upset patients, problems from upset employees, and being made to feel that our only role was to collect money from patients. Little emphasis was put on the care, but rather the business end of things. I've been in the work force for 23 years now and Pacific Dental was absolutely the worst working experience I've ever had.
