      Pros

      I've had a really good experience day-to-day working at PEAK6. Almost everyone is personable and easy to work with, and it's a collaborative environment. The leaders of the PEAK6 Services team are long-time employees, and it's very easy to see why they've earned those roles. I've worked at some companies where you wonder what Senior Leadership is doing day-to-day, and that is never a question I've had for a second at PEAK6. Compensation is roughly competitive and the health benefits are much better than I've seen in past roles. The Chicago office is very nice and has great amenities as well, and it's a fun environment to be in.

      Cons

      The employee mix is a small number of long-time employees, and the majority of the rest have less than a few years of tenure. Because of that, it can take a while to earn trust, and you have to be comfortable adapting and learning what strategies and tactics work best in this environment. I have a ton of respect for the leadership here (see Pros section), but they're pulled daily in a lot of different directions, so you need to be independent and figure out how to use your time with them wisely if you want to maximize your effectiveness.

      Exciting and Lots of Opportunity

      Pros

      I really enjoy working at Peak6. The people are nice and I feel like the people I work with genuinely care about what they do here. I feel like my manager supports me, and I've been able to take on tasks and responsibilities in areas I haven't in the past and thus have learned a lot. It's an exciting industry and a cool place to be. If you're smart and work hard, there are plenty of opportunities here. The company also does poker events occasionally and those are pretty fun.

      Cons

      I don't really have any cons. I know some people don't like working in office but they were very clear about that in the interview process and I personally like it so it works well for me. There is a lot of change here which may seem daunting, but for me it's actually led to more opportunities and I am learning a lot in areas I never realized I was good at.

      Pros

      Good coworkers, good WLB, great office.

      Cons

      Not as tech heavy in their trading strats. Most trading is discretionary so limited potential as a SWE.
