Pros

Working at PHMG has allowed me to sharpen my creative skills, and then some. When I started over three years ago, I was barely able to confidently talk through ideas. I am now pitching creative ideas to some of the highest people in the company with conviction and assertiveness. Some of these ideas have helped shaped the business and its unique product, so it was great to have that trust distilled in an employee. The company pushes personal development as well as professional, which I also found to be very refreshing. Much like other reviews - I have to agree that one of the best things about the job is the people, especially those within the department. I have made great friends here. As far as the creative departments go, the company does a great job in hiring interesting and talented people. You get plenty of chances to socialise with them in the two lavish work events. A newly introduced discount programme is also a great perk of the job.

Cons

The salary is below industry average considering the specialist training/education involved to obtain the role. Having said this - there is a fantastic annual bonus scheme. It could be argued, however, that this would be more beneficial to individuals if it was awarded on a monthly/quarterly basis. Due to the size of the department, the potential for natural progression is quite limited

Great place to learn a lot quickly

Pros

It's a great place to start. You learn a lot quickly, get thrown straight in to the work and which is varied. You can flex your creative skills while improving them throughout a multitude of companies and industries across the globe. You also undertake fun and interesting development throughout your time at the company. The people in the department are easily one of the best things about the job. They're friendly, fun, welcoming, interesting and talented which can often be difficult to find. It's especially impressive considering the amount of people in the department. There are also a lot of great people in other departments too. The company provides good perks with two work parties a year, shop discounts and more, as well as a solid bonus system giving you the chance to earn more each month. You get a good amount and variation of work to keep you engaged through the day without unnecessary stress or pressure.

Cons

Salary is basic for the role compared to similar roles in other companies, but this is helped a little by the bonus scheme. It's a sales company so it can feel like everything is done in service of the money, and creative can sometimes feel undervalued. Can also feel like a bit of a boys' club. Only some slight career advancement opportunity. You can be creative but in a limited format capacity due to the nature of the product.
