Pros

decent enough pay for recordings

Cons

Almost impossible to get paid. Whenever I've reached out to accounting I am never responded to. I have to assume this company cannot afford to pay its bills and may be going out of business?

Pros

You can potentially meet some cool people after you filter through the bad

Cons

After leaving and seeing what else is out there, the pay is really bottom of the barrel. Base salary is horrible and commission structure is broken. You only earn commission if an outside sales rep closes on a deal and that’s all. Not if you complete a qualified meeting and if you are paired up with a subpar rep, good luck. It is rare to see a majority or even half the team hit quota and that’s being generous. It’s not explicit but you are expected to work out side of business hours to hit certain metrics as well. Management does little to nothing to support the team and when sales are down, they just expect us to work harder and call more. Since leaving I have heard stories of affairs and previously fired drug users getting rehired. If you went to develop in sales and find a successful career, PHMG will not have any benefit for you. Find a company that offers real development, a promotion plan and a commission structure based off your efforts and not someone else’s.

Pros

- none, save your time and mental well-being and do not work at PHMG

Cons

- Management is manipulative and spineless. They refuse to be held accountable. Talking to management is like talking to a slimy politician—no matter how many valid points you make, they will ignore them and redirect the conversation. - Management doesn’t necessarily have to know how to do the job they are managing, but they refuse to learn how to navigate cloud-based programs so they do not have to train or help with them. The only knowledge they have is on premise systems, which are becoming obsolete. - They are trying to implement a program in which engineers give ideas on how to improve a client’s system. They are calling it “ad rev” (additional revenue) and marketing it to employees as a way to make more money. This program only provides engineers a tiny fraction of the total revenue they solely brought in. The majority goes to sales and the company, despite not having done a single thing to make thousands of dollars more per year per client. Instead of paying engineering more, they introduced this as a bandaid that is actually in turn very insulting. (Example: engineering gives call flow structure for ad rev, managers pitch this to client, client accepts and pays $50 more a month ($600/year) NOT including their existing monthly payment. Engineering in turn gets a ONE TIME payment of about $12 for this deal.) - Management cannot take any constructive suggestions. If you suggest a different approach they will say that you’re pushing back. - Every single person who has quit, has quit because of management style. They will continue to do so until a major change is made. - There is absolutely no upward movement or prospect of pay increases. They will try to manipulate you into taking on other roles for no extra pay. - Management style is beyond micromanaging—it’s borderline harassment. - Extreme frat culture that only pretends to care about people in sales (their positions are still excruciating) and ignores the hard work of the engineers. - They like to pretend they are diverse and inclusive, but the amount of sexist, homophobic and racist comments I heard was disgusting. The majority of the company is white men. - Engineering is held to a much higher standard than every other position however they receive the least recognition and respect. Every other position is able to make small mistakes and correct them here and there. However, if an implementer makes a tiny mistake they blow it out of proportion and act like it’s the end of the world. - No matter how proficient you get in this role, they will never validate you and will constantly criticize you. The most monotonous and unfulfilling work you will ever do is at PHMG. The product they “provide” is completely unnecessary and their sales and implementation approach is parasitic. They say they provide a world class product with custom music but most of the productions are stock music that they recycle over and over. They charge the clients ridiculous prices for this. Very happy to have left this place. Do yourself a favor and avoid PHMG at all costs.
