      Good place to learn - Dont take a Portfolio Associate position if you have options

      Smart coworkers Nice Office Decent pay - not the best though Work life balance is okay for Finance

      Cons

      Portfolio Managers I have worked for are toxic. They are arrogant and condescending to Portfolio Associates literately every day. No room for growth as a Portfolio Associate unless you want to be a Portfolio Associate for the rest of your life and get treated like absolute crap by fresh MBA grads.

      - competitive and driven culture - smart peer group - intellectually challenging work - geared for growth

      Cons

      - management hired from within, minimal training and accountability - think tank with a lot of great ideas, not a lot of action by managers. Analysis paralysis, some managers are not invested in fostering new ideas. - some managers threatened by skills of junior staff and become guarded - promotions are a feeding frenzy and so limited that it creates a dog eat dog work culture.
