External hires and MBAs have minimal standards but the firm values them heavily They will be put up against juniors that rise up internally Managers are external hires too hence they do not see the problem Long working hours, get ready to say goodbye to your family and friends for the period you work here Work hours and learning do not commensurate with the pay given Minimal internal mobility / upward mobility cos emphasis will be placed on MBA hires (with no finance backgrounds)

-If you are coming here out of undergrad for a product role be wary. You are not in a risk-taking or investment role. The exit opportunities are limited and business school will be necessary to pivot. (Ignore if in RE or private credit teams) -Post MBA's and seniors are treated like gods and pay is reflective of that, very topside heavy. -Little to no internal transferring, once you're on a team you're stuck with them unless you try to recruit. They will parade around a PM who "transferred" but in reality, it took him over a decade and an MBA to get put into a portfolio associate role.
