Pros

If all you're concerned about is salary and benefits, or making a quick buck, this may be up your alley. Compensation and benefits here are very competitive, and the location is transit friendly.

Cons

If the weekly turnover rate of 1.5-2 employees per week doesn't concern you, perhaps the following will. Plain and simple, this is a legacy company in regards to code, process and management. For a company that preaches an open door policy, secrecy is rampant. Whether it's "secret" bonuses for certain teams, "secret" bonuses to retain employees, or even "secret" seating arrangements, middle management treats all information as classified. Management is made up of what I would call an old boys club, wherein, most, if not all members have really only worked at PNI and are not privy to industry standards and best practices. The mentality for the most part is that since they've been around longer than most that their way of doing things is always the right way. Any objections to or suggestions for change are beaten down with an iron fist. Honestly, middle management often behaves worse than children. When you have a Director of Operations known for bringing up "I'm looking to fire someone today" in meetings, a Quality Assurance Manager who distracts employees for hours every week by discussing his old work place (which has come to be known around the office as "story time"), and an Operations Manager who's expectations of employees is to have no work/life balance whatsoever, confidence and morale are two things you'd be hard to find here. Essentially, this is a company where in order to be successful, you simply do what you are told. Any thinking outside of the box is often met with hostility. There is almost no communication, or rather recognition of the real day to day issues that the development floor faces to management, which is why turn over is so high here. To expand on this, priority for quality staffing falls to the wayside as rather than spending the time necessary for finding the right candidate, they simply look to plug holes. I have worked in my share of local tech companies, from great to horrible, but PNI takes the cake in regards to my overall dissatisfaction. I don't believe there was a single day where I looked forward going to work, it was only the pay checks that kept me there for what now seems like much too long.

Pros

Dog Friendly. Dogs are happy here.

Cons

Only dog friendly. They have no professionalism or any kind of healthy environment because they have, and support, a revolving door culture. They're not specialized in anything, and they skim on everything: people, resources, management, strategy, communication, professionalism, transparency, quality, ethics, and vision. Not a place of growth or progress of any sort.

Pros

They know how to market themselves as a place to be on LinkedIn and 'win' best places to work mentions. If you need to get paid, they will likely take you.

Cons

Terrible leadership, no idea how to plan or respect employees.
