Pros

The pay for customer service is fair for the area in Clearwater.

Cons

Don't believe the hype about free food. It pretty much was loafs of bread and jars of peanut butter and jelly. A lot of preassure with regards to call time management. Basically, they want you off the call as quickly as possible, regardless of whether or not the customer understands or is happy with the service. Their idea of "providing world-class customer service is a joke. Training doesn't make sense. SO much time is spent on training for sales and very little for your job function as a customer service agent.

Pros

Being a driver for PODS can be a fun experience; you meet interesting customers who are generally blown away by PODS equipment and our ability to get difficult jobs done, and you get to go to many cool places. Sometimes it's like getting to take a ride in the country on somebody else's dime.

Cons

Unfortunately, PODS is a predatory employer taking full advantage of the tight labor market. While they demand professional level performance, they compensate at absurdly low levels. Never accept any verbal agreements from this company; if they tell you what you will "start" at, trust me, you have just locked yourself in at your starting level. They do not honor seniority, and may keep you at "part time" status to avoid paying benefits regardless if you are working "full time" hours, or not. Also, their equipment is junk. Truck breakdowns are constant, resulting in many irate customers because of late or missed deliveries. Fortunatley, the driver is able to placate most of these customers, but not all. In todays labor market, this is not a bad place to land while you look for other work, but is not a career option for anyone with anything going for themselves.

Pros

The pay is above market for the local sales positions. A large percentage of the workforce is hired as temporary employees, this creates opportunities for those who perform well to be promoted. Our name is well known, which makes it a great place to work.

Cons

The organizations leadership is poor. The direction of the organization changes all the time, performance targets are unclear, compensation plans for sales agents are always changing without clear reason why. The firm seems to be having some financial difficulties, which has resulted in several cost reduction actions over the past few years. What's weird is they've laid off customer service and sales positions and hired more management positions. Where's the savings in that? In the end the customer experience continues to be bad, we sell the product but don't have thestaff necesssary to provide support when the customer needs it.
