Pros

Once had 9/80's but was taken away from a terrible manager

Cons

The worst management I have ever worked for was in the Westlake, LA facility. 100% reactive management that places safety, maintenance in the backseat to production. Over 30 members of salary has left this place in the last two years to being extremely unhappy with the poor and inept management practices

Pros

Company car. Health Insurance , Good friends with some.

Cons

Bad management, No help in the field, 1 Territory manager (ME) in the Chicago area . Under paid compared to other companies. Poor company relationship with Lowe's . PPG has less product in stores and never gets a fair or equal price to other companies in lowes. The other paint companies have more sales reps so they can cover and out sell. I could keep going. Just know, You'll be set up to fail.

Stay away - territory manager

Pros

Able to make own schedule Health care ok Good stepping stone to get into territory management. However can dull you sales skills as they are not used like they should be.

Cons

They care more about the investors than you. You are paid in the mid 30s you will not get more than a 10% pay bump when promoting to a new position. No match on 401k. They auto enroll you for a % of your income but no match. Hourly job which includes a lot of detailed time card management. Most of our competitors territory reps are salary which is consistent with the industry. The first and last hour of drive time is not paid that is 10 hours a week in the car you are not paid for. Constantly wanting the territory managers saving money meanwhile corporate spends like crazy including unnecessary marketing materials. Not very diverse employee pool. HR is not friendly. All policy are written to benefit PPG.
