Pros

Easy work, low stress , not micromanaged

Cons

Employees pay for the company car, 50 hr work weeks, Boring work, Quartly bonuses are a joke, they claim you're salary but you're hourly and a weak one at that. Wage is lower than competitors. Constantly trying to keep the company's head above water, Low man on the totem as far as The Home depot is concerned.

Pros

My current pay and benefits

Cons

Been at my current location for 19 years. Started off as Glidden, then ICI, Akzo Nobel and now PPG. And they are by far the worst I have ever seen. It is too much to get into but they have changed and taken away so much. This site used to be one of the best places to work, people were knocking on the doors to get in. Now they can't give the jobs away. The pay has changed (gone down) for new employees and even changed for current. Now they are going to mandate the shot or THE EMPLOYEE pays $25/ week for a test. (only nonshot employees have to test weekly) And because of THEIR decision (not government) they are losing great employees that have been with the company for many many years. I'm watching a place I thought I would retire at, now questioning whether they will be around long enough to retire from.

Pros

Stable environment. You can probably work here as long as you want.

Cons

Very few options for individuals to move up internally. I watched a few years ago as a manager left our group without a backup. A subordinate did the job (better) for 6 months. No substantial compensation was given and the position was given to an external hire. I've seen this happen a few times within my business unit. No issues with the current manager, but the unwillingness of the company to pay the going rate for certain positions is beginning to become infuriating. Currently being paid about 20k less annually for the role I'm in than what the market dictates. This is solely due to it being an engineering role. I know what a predecessor was paid since they transferred their network drive which had old annual reviews. We have also grown substantially since that predecessor was with us, but the pay has actually declined precipitously. Unfortunately taking advantage of the company's tuition reimbursement program has tied me up for a couple years despite current job offers elsewhere.
