Pros

Strong, stable company. Decent pay and benefits. Cafeteria and locker room with showers on site at Newport Beach location. Proximity to Fashion Island. Very strong Good Guys program to participate in charitable events. Many employees have worked here forever. This can be both good and bad.

Cons

Annual pay increases are very small, even for higher rated employees. Very "corporate" with the whole annual review process. Other posters have mentioned the antiquated technology that we have available and this is very true. It takes forever to get any new technology implemented and by the time you get it, it's already outdated. The culture is very corporate - sometimes it feels like you are working for the government because of all the approval levels, checks and balances, security measures, etc and the pace that these things move at. Also, some areas have employees that have been here forever, are stuck in their ways, won't think outside the box, just want to follow the rules, and just make things much more difficult and/or time consuming to accomplish than they need to be.

Retirement haven, growth career trap

Pros

Great for those who is just happy with a paycheck and be told what to do. The pace is slow and hours are usually good.

Cons

If you are a goal getter or have an ambition to make an impact, this might be the wrong place. Your goals and personality won't fit, and your skills and talent will be envied and marginalized. The company is extremely bureaucratic and hierarchical - those who lack the patience and political acumen won't survive. Discrimination against women is not always apparent, but definitely there.

Pros

Benefits are good, most people are hardworking good people that are invested in the success of the company and their peers.

Cons

It’s hard to trust and want to work for leaders when employees feel they’re being lied to or that their leaders don’t seem to care about how their decisions affect their employees. Senior management has been hypocritical in a very abrupt RTO policy and have demonstrated that they have no plan to effectively or fairly implement it. When given employee questions, most responses are tone deaf and vague that do not seem to add up with realities that employees face. Promises were made for years that they like and will keep current hybrid schedules (at the time). People moved out of state and people were hired being told those promises. This spawned some of the most productive years of the company, while people were happiest to be working there. Then one day they essentially told most of the workforce “move back to one of the most expensive places to live, commute hours if you can’t live here, or go find another job.” In other cases, people that live 15 mins away can work remote, while others have to commute hours each way to the office. Both of these people have the same job function. This leaves lots of people with questions and no straight answers. Due to this lack of consistency, it leaves employees seeing themselves and others as “winners and losers” or “important and not important” at the company. “We can’t lose this person 15 mins away, so they can work remote. You on the other hand… a 1.5 hour commute isn’t THAT bad.”
