Pros

Newport Beach location is nice. Did I mention the location was nice. Unless your in IT.

Cons

Divisions openly treat corporate employees like crap (RSD is the worst). Khanh is a horrible human being. No CIO so systems are so disparate. Raises are nonexistent. No ability to work from home or have a flexible schedule. Everyone in mid management doesn't have a clue and senior management just keeps putting their heads in the sands about it. Most staff are unhappy because it's all politics. Environment is very reactive not proactive, so it's in constant kaos (case in point is the recent power outage). Employee cafe food is horrible.

Pros

You get a paycheck at the cost of your well being.

Cons

This place is the worst place I've ever worked at. I actually worked there from 2001-2003. In reading the more recent reviews..not much has changed. The micro-managing, the blacklists, management explicitly telling you "a good employee is one that shuts their trap and pretend everything is good", littered with extremely poor managers. Won't even approve your educational reimbursements even though it was promised as part of the benefit. This is a sad and extremely demoralizing place to work. I was so so happy when I finally got out.

Pros

- You get to "buy" a week of vacation and have the opportunity to sell back any unused days at the end of the year - Nice, new building (if you're in the Life Division) -- The Newport location is in a better location, though - Flexible work hours/vanpool

Cons

As my headline indicates, this is what one of my bosses told me. That boss was the epitome of it! Most (if not all) the supervisors in my department don't even know the business. Several of them are in their manager's office every day, showering them with flowers and praise. Guess that's how they get cushy pay increases and maintain their jobs (although I'd like to know exactly what they do all day because helping their associates is NOT one of them!). There was a new supervisor job posting and one person who didn't get the job was told by senior management that this person would be on the side of the associates, NOT management. It's apparent that the hourly workers are looked way down upon by the almighty senior management. Those who work the most, get paid the least and are the least respected.
