A Company in Crisis

Pros

Nice building, free coffee, fun company events. Fast paced environment with cool tech.

Cons

CEO has history of verbally abusing employees including personal attacks and swear words. Also stokes his ego by belittling employees in front of customers. Also attacks customers behind their backs, attacking their intelligence, physical appearance or their company in general. Unethical behaviours any time money is involved: bill customers when they shouldn't, screw employees out of quarterly bonuses, and beating up vendors and underpaying them. People are treated like cogs in a machine for making money, not valued resources. Key resources are burning out and upper leadership doesn't care. Mantra is still "work harder, work more". Work- life balance is terrible. Company lacks a shared vision, which results in divisions constantly battling with each other. Upper leadership believes this competition between teams is healthy, so unlikely to change. Very little opportunity for advancement. Complete lack of training for new hires. Pay is not competitive. Benefits get worse every year and cost the employee more. Overall, a very toxic place to work.

Prepare to be underpaid

Pros

They have a cool space, give you a lot of independence, and a lot of the people you work with are fun

Cons

You're either really important, or really unimportant there. They highly value upper management and pay them really well and then they pay very poorly for everyone else. They take advantage of being able to work you hard even though they are under paying you. Very focused on making money and not willing to spend it on their employees. There is a horrible hierarchy and they forget about all the people supporting them that are underpaid. Hours are tough because billable hours often aren't fulfilled even when the customer is being charged for them. Huge lack of training. PTO isn't competitive and they don't listen to people when they have suggestions about new ideas in the workplace. Orientation is irrelevant by the time it rolls around. They also have working from home options sometimes but most people that work from home don't actually work.
