Customers run the business policies.

Pros

Entry level employees or the ground floor are very friendly. Most hang out after work. Very easy to shift the blame around for lazy employees. Nobody ever gets fired. Some growth potential although not as much as it used to be.

Cons

Customers run the whole show. They will gladly throw away and principles or standard practices if someone ways a check around. As a result the actual "workers" get trampled and ignored. Top performers are rewarded with additional work. Bottom people are never taken to task. If you enjoy working for sub part salaries while anyone with the title of manager gets over paid this is the place for you. They seem to reward people inverse to their workload. Decision makers are far removed from the process.

Needs to slow down, pick a strategy and stay with it

Pros

Bright, hardworking, energetic co-workers. Decent benefits, lots of fun events for employees to mingle

Cons

Pay is less than market, you have to work crazy hours just to get projects done in the time frame expected, and the turnover is so high that it does no good to track down SMEs...they'll just be gone in a month or two. The company states that customer partnership is a core value, but the focus is more on how to squeeze every dime out of billable hours than actually being able to partner with customers.

Pros

People tend to be younger or at least more in tune with current development trends has a vague vision of where they want to go focused on cornering the market

Cons

The company works toward money above all else. They listen more to the client than the development staff and tend to sent some unrealistic deadlines. Often times the deadlines are already set before a resource is brought in and the answer to this is "Make it work". People who are willing to put in the extra effort are not rewarded. The culture is rapidly deteriorating in favor of more profits. WTS used to pride itself on it's laid back environment and flexible schedule, now they only do token gestures like charity donations. These are more for the news letters they send out to clients and the industry and less about keeping their talent happy. They used to focus on keep talented people around but now its all about making money. Management has changed so rapidly that the core values of the original company are pushed aside for the more corporate seperation between the workers and the manangers. In years past the development staff was promoted to the manager so you knew the people making the decisions had experienced what the people they are managing have done. Now most of the management has come from outside the company. This has created a large divide between the people doing the work and those in charge.
