Pros

The people here are great. The remote work is excellent too. I liked the health insurance here.

Cons

Paradigm used to be a great place to work until the new President started working here. Google "g-yatri leaving pepsico" and you can see what she did to her previous employer. She left it a shell of its former self and cultured a highly toxic environment. The first thing she did so far at Paradigm is invent a new role within the company, Senior Vice President, and then hired her friend in that position. Her current step is laying off as many people as possible in place of her friends. Next step will be to offshore developer work. This is all so Paradigm can be corporatized into its parent company, BFS. If you are thinking about working here, wait until she leaves. Do not work here while she is here because you will be miserable. Don't take my word for it, look her up! Otherwise, prior to her starting here, the people on my team are excellent to work with. I saw this as a company I can retire at, but with the new President here, that's no longer the case. The Vice Presidents used to be very friendly and personable, secure in their positions. Now they're cold and callous to those around them, working in fear of losing their jobs to be replaced with one of her friends. To those fellow co-workers, good luck, because you're going to be miserable.

At Paradigm, we strive to foster a culture of transparency, especially during times of transition. Leadership changes often bring new strategies and structures, and while these shifts can be challenging, they are intended to support long-term growth and stability. We recognize that trust takes time to rebuild, and we’re committed to listening and learning from feedback like yours. We’re especially grateful to hear that your team has been a source of support and excellence. That sense of camaraderie is something we value deeply and aim to preserve across the organization. If you feel comfortable, we encourage you to share your concerns through internal feedback channels or directly with HR. Your voice matters, and we want to ensure it’s heard in the right spaces where it can help shape a better future for everyone at Paradigm.

Pros

Small company and you're not just a number — If you're into that.

Cons

What you're told when you interview with Paradigm is nothing like what working at Paradigm is like. They put out the "flexible" vibes but middle management micro manages and tries to bully employees with work and passive aggressive behavior. When I interviewed, they pushed the fact about the company pushes tons of alcohol on employees at their "gathering". Manager was super unprofessional during interview and giggled the entire time. At some point in the interview she asked me, "If you could be a tree... any tree... what kind of tree would you be?" I wasn't quite sure what the point of this was and perhaps this whole thing should have been a red flag to run. They have no sense of organization or utilize sprints for work. Feels very chaotic and siloed between departments. I mentioned to UX manager I wasn't happy and rather than asking how she could retain an employee, she was quick to get an attitude and push employees out. Very low pay for the industry, lack of perks, and there's an overall sense here that you should just feel lucky as an employee to be working remote. Overall, feels like they expect a lot from employees for absolutely nothing in return.

We are sorry you didn't have a good experience here. To be fair, you only stayed about a week and a half, and you were still in our onboarding program. We realize our onboarding program can be a lot, but we think it is really important to invest in the onboarding and training of our employees so that they understand who Paradigm is and what we do. For clarity our first day of onboarding consists of; a video tour of the office, an brief HR meeting, a meeting with your Manager, an IT orientation, a lunch with your manager, HR orientation, Confluence orientation (think intranet) and a legal overview. We think these are pretty critical first day things. As the role you were in was a creative role, the plant question was meant to understand your creative tendencies. Again, at the end of the day, we want everyone to have a good experience at Paradigm and we are sorry that you didn't find that here.

Great work environment but little benefits

Pros

The people are great. It's a fast-paced work environment that gives opportunity for growth. Company events are great, especially any where you get to see/get to know your teammates in person.

Cons

Let me just say that I love what I do and the people I work with. This is just my observation and criticism as someone who hasn't been here for years and years. That being said, I'm seeing a trend with employees being overworked neaely every week and little to no benefits that come out of it. It's great that the company is growing and thriving, and that we're having to catch up in terms of hiring more people, but if that's the case, then it's management who's reaping the rewards, not the foundational employees working 50-60 hours a week to make the software look great for the end user. It's a shame that so many experienced employees tend to leave because they can get paid 20-30% more somewhere else, sometimes even fairly close and within the same state. Paradigm, I know you can do better. If you're missing the lower end of industry standard pay by more than 20% and people are having to get a second job just to support themselves, I think you have some work to do.

We agree that work life balance is important, and while what the means can vary a bit by team, the majority of Paradigm employees work between 40-45 hours per week. If you'd be open to chatting more-please reach out to us.
