Pros

The brands are highly recognizable. This makes CBS Interactive (esp CNET) an attractive place as a stepping stone to a different company.

Cons

- No career advancement if you are at any point but just starting your career - Failure of senior leadership to grow middle managers - Poor employee recognition - Middle managers provide terrible leadership and are politically concerned to the point where they show little to no concern for direct reports (this is systemic, no group appears to be immune). - Product development is weak. There is no focus and senior management appears incapable of correcting this despite recognition of the problem.

Pros

The Benefits package is good and the general staff are a great bunch to work with

Cons

The organization is turning more and more "corporate". I think this company is slowly losing it's soul. This used to be a creative place focused on making the most inovative and interesting entertainment in the world. Now it's just trying to meet the bottom line. Noone cares any longer how we get there only that the stockholders are happy. When I was young (I was tuned in when Video Killed the Radio Star appeared) MTV was the voice of a generation. Considering the programming it's transmitting, what is that voice saying now?

Pros

- Some of the teams have great people to work with - Interesting projects - Decent health insurance coverage

Cons

- 5 days mandatory RTO with enforced badging, including for those who don't live near an office - Upper management is not trustworthy - Low compensation for 5 days in-office - Benefits are pretty lacking, especially when compared to other tech companies - Lots of micromanagement going on (CEO is not Bob Bakish anymore, it is David Ellison)
