Pros

Pax8 has a strong brand, a compelling value proposition for partners, and a passionate employee base that wants to make a real impact. Many individual contributors and mid-level leaders are smart, driven, and mission-aligned. There’s genuine excitement around innovation, and some teams are doing excellent work despite structural gaps.

Cons

The company is trying to scale without the foundational maturity needed to support rapid growth. A major concern is the influence of leadership from the Wirehive acquisition. While the current COO and CIO may have been successful in a startup context, they lack the experience required to lead and scale a global enterprise. This has led to a lack of clear strategy, weak governance, and fragmented execution across key business and technology functions. Their approach tends to prioritize short-term fixes over long-term structure, often mistaking complexity for progress. As a result, critical areas like technology strategy, process standardization, and enterprise operations are underdeveloped.

It's great to hear you appreciate our flexible and empowered approach to work but I'm sad to hear you don't feel you have access to progression opportunities. I hope you took advantage of our recent Career Development Conversations cycle to discuss your career aspirations with your leader. I acknowledge in smaller functions there are fewer opportunities for direct upward progression but Pax8 averages an internal mobility rate of ~30% globally - significantly higher than industry average - and pride ourselves on providing both lateral and upward growth opportunities for our people.
