Pros

Great people, I've met some incredible folks during my time here.

Cons

Not enough pay. Way too much work, if you're competent and good at what you do, they just pile on the work but don't provide aa pay bump or promotion.

Cons

- Staying in your comfort zone is encouraged - Very corporate - Incompetent management - Lack of technical talent, and/or recognition of good technical talent - No room to grow / corners are heavily guarded - Bad organizational structure hence terrible communication - Terrible culture at practice - Terrible engineering practices that are led by copy cats - Terrible technical architectural direction

Thank you for your feedback. While we are sorry that this was your experience at PayByPhone, we appreciate the radical candor here to share suggestions of what you think can be improved for the organization. Over the past six months, we have focused on building tools and resources to provide development opportunities for our team members, including our leadership. This includes a new global leadership development program, new skills training courses and workshops, and a development program for our Software Development leaders, specifically. PayByPhone has a rich history and we look forward to growing and striving. If you’re open to a conversation, we’d love to hear more about your experience. Pros

Snacks, perks, casual tech company environment. Big investment from VW

Cons

Fake company culture, if you don't click you're out. Workplace is very political, departments often clash against each other. Some internal turmoil that isn't made clear to employees. Unclear communication. Very few people with personality, talent & compassion. Depending on the team, can get away with coasting as long as you "look" like you're doing work or you go unnoticed. Especially folks who belong to the pre-VW era; not helpful, lazy, streaming while at work, not very compassionate. This one embittered head of department has an immature managerial style although they've been in the company for years and should know better. Very fake and negative environment. Their lack of communication is tremendous and they're verbally abusive. Felt defeated working there, all talk (says one thing and doesn't deliver).

Thank you for providing us with your feedback and we are sorry to hear that your experience did not match your expectations. The growth and development of our team members, including our management team members has been a big focus for us. This year, we have built tools and resources to provide development opportunities for our people, including a new leadership development program and skills training courses and workshops. It’s no secret that PayByPhone has grown immensely over the past few years, and a priority for us going forward is to ensure our people have the opportunities to grow and develop into strong leaders. Transformation takes time and we are investing in it. Lewisa Anciano, VP, Global HR at PayByPhone
