      Pros

      world leader in its field, paypal is indeed the place to be from if you are looking for a career in payments, risk or any related areas.

      Cons

      politics, underachievement, low level of employees from junior to senior levels. little to no one can keep track of complex ideas, and most people just spend their days with politics and ass-covering.

      Great company to work for, but ability to bear with processes is key

      Pros

      Smart, dedicated, passionate people. Great platform. Collaborative. Steady, growing, secure.

      Cons

      Too many processes. Too political. Too many negative value add pencil pushers. False precision. Tolerance for non-performers. Management don't know how to set an excellent standard for their people and unable to discern the good and bad performer from the pool and make decisive action to preserve the good and remove the bad. Stringent promotional process that does not make sense. Prey on hardworking people, who do less upward management. Powerpoint culture. Title is important. A lot of churn. A lot of excuses. Too many people who needs constant recognition and reward and forget that they need to do their job well.

      1. Upward Feedback - you get to anonymously rate your immediate supervisor 2. They really mean it when they tell you there are advancement opportunities - almost everyone in our department was promoted to their position from within the company 3. Benefits start the first day of employment - no 90-day waiting period that is so common for the industry

      Cons

      1. Layers of management / approvals can make it hard to accomplish anything - we know how to do our jobs, now just get your noses out of Operations and let us mitigate risk!
