Pros

Paycom has had a remarkable impact on my career and personal life. I quickly realized how much potential there is to succeed in the Client Relations Representative role and did all I could to exceed leadership expectations. Just over a year later I was promoted to the Client Relations Manager role and I am continually motivated by the vision leadership casts. My goal each day is to put my employees in a position to win and guide them to the same success I achieved in their role. You are only limited by your own drive and will to succeed with this company.

Cons

The job is very challenging and difficult, though incredibly rewarding. Paycom does not hide the fact that a lot will be asked of you and exactly what that will look like, though it does make it not a great fit for many people. If you're not willing to push yourself to succeed every day, I would not recommend working here.

Pros

This review is going to be lengthy and I waited over a year to post it. This is a review of the sales organization and CRR department in a satellite office. - Sales gets treated like the golden child of the company. If you’re looking to be in sales then that’s the best option with the best pay (like most companies). - Your Manager will make or break you. I was lucky enough to have a great manager who I enjoyed working with. We used to call him our ‘firewall’. He blocked a lot of the corporate bull so we didn’t have to deal with it. I’m very thankful for that. - The training program is excellent. Many offices even have their own trainers now. You’ll do a mix of online/classroom training and start off in a good place.

Cons

- Quotas are always increasing and extremely difficult to hit year 1. If you can make it through year 1, you’ll likely do well in the future. - The CRR’s (Account Managers) are one step below sales reps. Slightly lower stress, lower but still good pay, but get treated a little like the adopted step brother of sales. To illustrate: Sales reps are allowed to become a CRR if failing at their role, but CRR’s can not become sales reps no matter how much they wish. This is because they think CRR’s don’t know how much more sales reps make and are awarded stock and incentives for hitting goals. We all talk. We all know. It’s not a big deal stop trying to hide it. - You’re encouraged to lie. Didn’t hit your appointment numbers? No problem just throw a few extra in their awful, house built CRM. If you don’t hit your numbers for appointments it’s honestly better to lie about it. I’d say 70% of the department does that. If you don’t lie and don’t hit it, your managers get in trouble, their managers get in trouble, and nobody is happy. Even if you’re hitting or exceeding your sales numbers but don’t hit “appointment numbers” save yourself the hassle and just lie about it. Add a “drop” or “first meeting” and you’ll be fine. - The dynamic between Sales/CRR/TSR is very interesting and varies extremely by office. I would say our office was one of the best in the nation. So much that we had our COO come out at one point and ask us questions. It’s because we treated each other like people and genuinely cared instead of the divisive culture Paycom cultivates. It’s like the sales team are the football players (best treated), CRRs are the cheerleaders (well treated) and TSR’s are the band.
